Project Proposal

Project Proposals are short, 1-2 page summaries of the project description, materials, stakeholders, resources, and requirements. GSDC uses proposals to develop Memorandum’s of Agreement, ensure that projects will be supported, and familiarize the Advisory Board with the material. Virginia Tech University Libraries uses proposals to schedule digitization and ingest.

What’s Included

  • Title of the collection
  • Summary: High-level statement summarizing the proposed project
  • Champion: Identifies your Project Champion at Virginia Tech
  • Purpose & Goal: Justification for the proposal, including value, uniqueness, grant requirements, evidence of use, and others
  • Time contstraints
  • Description of materials: A full description of materials included the number of items and formats
  • Resources: List of resources provided by the proposer, such as funding or staff
  • Rights: Identify the rights owner and permission to publish
  • Stakeholder/Partners: Identify additional stakeholders, partners, collaborators
  • Audience/Users: Identify the user group this project serves and supports
  • Addendums: Available for projects that need to adjust the initial proposal
